Starbucks has opened two new locations at Downtown Disney and, while more Starbucks locations on property isn’t necessarily news, these two are a bit different from those already in the parks at Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
The first of the new locations to open was the Marketplace location, a walk-up Starbucks that has been added to the front of World of Disney just next to the entrance to the Princess room.
This location is walk-up only and has none of its own seating. You place your order at the front windows…
Then wait for your name to be called and pick up your order at the side windows.
A few things about this location that are different from Fountain View and Main Street Bakery Starbucks. First, and probably most notable, it does NOT accept Disney Dining Plan snack credits. Food and beverages are cash, credit, or Disney Gift Card only. You can both collect and redeem Starbucks rewards at this location. Second, seating is only available across the walkway by the stage and there’s not a lot of it. This store is great for grabbing a drink on the go, but not for sitting and having a chat. Lastly, the Marketplace location does sell the popular Starbucks boxed lunches and snack selections that the park locations do not carry. It also serves Valencia Orange Refreshers, which cannot be found in-park at this time.
West Side Starbucks
The West Side Starbucks is a free-standing location that covers nearly 4,000 square feet of space.
The West Side Starbucks is a Reserveâ„¢ store, meaning that it serves rare small-batch coffees brewed with Clover machines (coffee machines that drip-brew coffee at exact temperatures and with precise amounts of water) in addition to its normal Starbucks lineup. The store has a huge ordering area
as well as ample seating indoors
and a lovely outdoor seating area with a live plant wall over a gas fireplace.
This location also features an interactive “chalkboard” (pictured above) that features interactivity with photos taken by a store-facing camera and, on some occasions, a view into the Disneyland store as well.
Some things to know about this location: West Side Starbucks does NOT take Disney dining plan credits but does take Disney Gift Cards. You can both collect and redeem Starbucks rewards at the West Side store, and the menu is standard Starbucks (including Valencia Orange Refreshers!) except for the reserve offerings that change based on coffee availability. The West Side store does offer the full lineup of Starbucks Boulangerie pastries as well as boxed lunches, sandwiches, and snacks like fresh fruit and yogurt parfaits. It also carries an extensive selection of merchandise with some orlando-specific mugs. Free wi-fi is available at this location and the store is accessible either from the front across from the Harley Davidson store, or the back entrance via the waterfront walkway.
