Several days ago, Walt Disney World took the construction walls down from Peter Pan’s Flight to reveal a newly refurbished queue. And while the theming is great, the change to a climate controlled line space is the real winner in this process. Let’s take a look at the changes.
While there’s still a bit of a wind-around outside in the initial stages of the line, fairly quickly you transition to an interior hallway lined with artwork from the film.
The hallway leads to the exterior of the “Darling House” where the window into the Darling’s party preparations is surrounded by nighttime neighborhood exterior. This part of the queue is very dark but still friendly and fun.
As you cross into a foyer-type space, you’ll find family portraits of the Darling children, the parents, and even Nana the dog.
The queue then winds through the bedroom of the Darling children and back into the line that eventually leads to the boats. The space can get crowded – this is what crowd level looked like with a 60-minute projected standby wait.
This is not an interactive queue – just a space that will be climate controlled and nice to look at.
The themed areas have lots of things to “find”. They’re all separated from the line by railings.
This is a refreshing change from the interactive queues that have been installed in many of the rides and provides much-needed heating and cooling to a ride with a consistently long wait.
