DSC_0018Dates for 2015’s Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios were announced late last night (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from May 14 to June 15, 2015) and early this morning, Disney snuck in the opening of reservations for Star Wars Weekends dining.   Offered daily May 4, 2014, through June 15, 2015, the meals include the Star Wars Dine-In Galactic Breakfast at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant, and Jedi Mickey’s Star Wars Dine Dinner at Hollywood & Vine. Here’s what you need to know about these experiences to book a great meal.

The price ($49.99 for adults and $31.99 for kids ages 3-9 or TWO Dining Plan credits per person) includes pastries, appetizer, entree, a breakfast dessert, and a non-alcoholic beverage. No discounts are accepted, but last year you were able to request multiple entrees if you chose to do so. Last year’s menu included:

  • Breakfast Pastry Assortment (Vanilla Cream Turnover, Almond Pastry, Double Chocolate Muffin)
  • Greek Yogurt Parfait with fresh berries and homemade granola
  • The Dune Sea - House-Smoked Salmon Scrambled Eggs, Wild Mushroom Potato Hash with multigrain toast slathered with goat cheese butter
  • Tattooine Sunrise - Scrambled Eggs, Neuske’s Bacon, Sausage Links, and breakfast potatoes
  • Imperial Delight - Caramelized banana-stuffed french toast with caramel sauce and strawberry compote
  • Ackbar Surprise - Smoked Paprika-dusted shrimp, pan-seared and served with cheesy grits
  • Mos Eisley’s Morning - Egg White Omelet with Shitake Mushrooms and Caramelized Onions, Garlic roasted fingerling potatoes, and greek yogurt with berries
  • Kenobi Cuisine Kids’ Entree - Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, and Breakfast Potatoes. Meal served with choice of greek yogurt parfait or seasonal fresh fruit.
  • Gamorrean Goodness - Puffed French Toast Sticks tossed in cinnamon and sugar and served with chocolate dipping sauce. Meal served with choice of greek yogurt parfait or seasonal fresh fruit.
  • Standard sodas, coffee, tea, and juice plus blue milk with a hint of blueberry flavor and Mimosas and Bellinis (not included in the price).

Some notes: Last year’s characters were in two sets with Darth Vader and Boba Fett greeting with a special backdrop and photo op just inside the restaurant. Guests got special PhotoPass cards with their photos. Inside the restaurant, Jawas, Storm Troopers, and Greedo circulated through the dining room for photos. Because the restaurant is themed after a drive-in movie, some of the interior photos were a bit difficult to get given the darkness.

The Star Wars Dine-In Galactic Breakfast can only be booked by calling (407) WDW-DINE (no online booking at this time). Check-in is at the Sci-Fi Dine-In entrance and parties may have to wait a while outside before being called in.

While the Galactic Breakfast got off to a little bit of a slow start last year (probably because the restaurant doesn’t normally serve breakfast), the reviews as the season wrapped up were great.

JEDI MICKEY’S STAR WARS DINE at Hollywood & Vine

Jedi Mickey’s Star Wars Dine will be served at Hollywood & Vine daily from May 4th to June 15, 2014, from 4:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. The price ($57.99 for adults and $34.99 for kids ages 3-9 and TWO dining credits per person) includes the dinner buffet and a non-alcoholic beverage. Last year’s menu included tons of adult-pleasing and kid-friendly options like barbecued chicken, lobster and shrimp mac and cheese, ranch chicken, maple-glazed salmon, penne with meat sauce, herb-roasted turkey, fresh salads, and a dessert bar that made the meal worth the price by itself. Standard beverages (soda, juice, tea, coffee, etc) are included.

No discounts are accepted. You may also opt to book the Fantasmic Dinner Package (reserved seating at Fantasmic! after dinner) with this meal from 4:15 to 7:00 p.m. for $63.99 for adults and $38.99 for kids ages 3-9 or two dining credits per person. This dining experience can only be booked by calling (407) WDW-DINE.

Characters at last year’s dinner were Jedi Mickey, Leia Minnie, Storm Trooper Donald, Ewok Chip and Dale, and Darth Vader Goofy. Chip and Dale pose for a photo op before dinner and the rest circulate through the dining room to meet and greet.

Some notes: First, you’ll need to check in at the podiums set up in front of the restaurant prior to your reservation time. Walk ups MAY be allowed, but only if there are cancellations and you ask same-day. You must have your entire party with you to be seated. You may be required to wait even after your party is called as the photo op with Ewok Chip and Dale at the entrance can slow things down a bit.

Hopefully this answers all your dining questions and gets you ready to experience some fantastic food options at this year’s Star Wars Weekends!
